INTRODUCING CHI CHI

I really know better than to let Raymondo out of the house with a credit card. After years of returning half of the impulse buys the dude is known for at Williams-Sonoma stores everywhere, I've come to realize it's his method of showing love.

I figured I was totally safe when he and Dylan went to get gas, a car wash and dog food. They weren't going anywhere near a Williams-Sonoma. I figured wrong. They came home a few hours later  with a  dark chocolate brown bunny.

A living creature plus 30 pounds of accoutrements to set up housekeeping.

Right away I could see this was going to be a difficult return.

And I'm the queen of returns.

And the bunny was super cute.

But I do not need one more thing to take care of. This isn't a farm for goodness sakes. I think the 2 critters  are enough. We already have Big Black Bastard weighing in at 125 pounds and Scarlett registering at 20 pounds who both love stalking the squirrels and bunnies in the neighborhood.

It turned out I was being set up for quite a battle and I simply decided to cut my losses.

Plus I threatened to pack my bags and move in with my Dad if one more animal crossed our threshold.

In honor of upping our diversity factor we decided to name him Miss Chi Chi Rodriguez. That was not a typo.

Noxema, Chi Chi & Vida

He is named after a character in Patrick Swayze's To Wong Fu, Thank For Everything Julie Newmar. Chi Chi is a young Hispanic man in the movie about 3 drag queens traveling cross country. Our Chi Chi is a dark little tranny bunny. He likes to have his nails painted and his cage is adorned with silky scarves. He's a fuzzy eating and pooping machine.

Did you know bunnies will lick you like a dog?

Speaking of dogs, I give the Chi Chi about 50/50 odds of still being alive by the summer.

A PERFECT GETAWAY

A Perfect Getaway

Since it was way too hot for me to go outside, I spent a fair amount of time sorting some very old pictures while watching some movies. I gave up on the first 2 comedies I selected.

 Then I saw it.

A suspense thriller about a strange honeymoon murder on the island of Kauai.

Further investigation revealed this feature starred Timothy Olyphant, who I must disclose I have a huge crush on now that Patrick Swayze is gone. I enjoy him every Wednesday night in Justified on FX, playing US Marshall Raylan Givens assigned to his coal mining hometown back in Kentucky.

The movie did not disappoint even though it had mixed reviews when originally released in 2009.

The Hawaiian scenery was spectacular as were all the shots of Olyphant traipsing through the tropical paradise. There may have been few tasteful but luscious scenes invilving a waterfall.

Timothy's character was a rugged but colorful ex-Special Ops guy who meets up with a odd couple on their honeymoon. It was a good suspense movie with a lot of clues sprinkled through out all of the action.

There were more than a few unexpected twists.

I may have to watch it a few more times, just to pick up on any clues I missed the first time around. *wink wink*.

Watch out for the electrical cords. Bunnies are notorious cord munchers! He is really beautiful.

Sure hope Romando is enjoying cleaning the cage and any "gifts" the bunny leaves around! Sadly, bunnies are the biggest "returned" animals to shelters. Hope Miss Chi Chi beats the odds!!!

Is Cole interested in him? Lunch, perhaps??? Are bouviers hunters? ;-)
